MARTIN TRUEX JR. WINS TELCEL-MOTOROLA MEXICO 200 PRESENTED BY BANAMEX

NASCAR Busch Series reigning champion Martin Truex Jr. won inaugural NASCAR Busch Series race in Mexico, Sunday’s Telcel-Motorola Mexico 200 Presented by Banamex held at the 2.518-mile NASCAR circuit at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

This was Truex’s first victory on a road course in one of the three National NASCAR Series. Also, Truex Jr. scored his seventh career NASCAR Busch Series victory in his 52 nd career start.

After starting from the Busch pole, Jorge Goeters maintained his lead over Robby Gordon, but some off-track excursions and an engine problem prevented him from reaching Victory Lane, as Martin Truex Jr. and his team managed to take the lead.

Eventually, Truex Jr. and his No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Chevrolet Team in a display of perseverance and hard work took the checked flag
